Interact is a club for youth ages 12-18 who want to connect with other young people in their community or school. Interact club members have fun while carrying out service projects and learning about the world. Interact is affiliated with Rotary, a community organization whose goal is to provide humanitarian service and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. CSHS Interact is proud to partner with the Rotary Club of Key Largo and the Rotary Club of the Upper Keys!

Interact clubs organize service projects that benefit their school or community and that encourages international understanding. Service projects are an effective way for members to take action at home and abroad, connect with other young leaders, and get others excited about your club.

Club members also volunteer in Rotary Club projects in addition to committing a considerable number of service hours to non-profit events in the community. These include but are not limited to highway and coastline clean-ups, Take Stock in Children Backcountry Challenge, The Gigantic Nautical Flea Market, and other causes and local events.

RYLA – Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is Rotary’s leadership training program for young people. RYLA participants range in age from 14-30, but most clubs and districts choose to focus on a narrower age range, such as 14-18 or 19-30. RYLA emphasizes leadership, citizenship, and personal growth.

The RYLA committee identifies high school students with leadership qualities and  provides scholarships to attend the annual RYLA weekend leadership training conference  in Ridgetown Ontario. Candidates are identified with help from high school counselors and from Interact clubs members at our large local high schools.
